“Embrace the Dark with Bats!”

Marissa Jones, Head Gardener at Lincoln Memorial Garden, will provide an overview of the native bats of Illinois. The program will offer an introduction to bat biology, field research techniques, a “tour” of an artificial bat house, and an opportunity for local community scientists to participate in bat conservation and monitoring. 

Free and open to the public.

“Flycatchers of Illinois”

Tyrannidae (Tyrant Flycatchers) are the largest family of birds in the world, with approximately 425 known species. Dr. Matt Hayes of the Illinois Audubon Society will explain how to identify various species of flycatchers in Illinois based on field marks and song/call.
